Last year I dedicated my Christmas blog to the new addition of the Barbie collection, wheelchair user Becky and I thought it appropriate to talk about toys as Christmas rapidly creeps up on us to burn a hole in our pockets.

As you know shopping online is the best way of making the pennies stretch and as I was doing some online purchasing I came across this amazing variety of special needs toys for children – or adults who still have the child within.
There is a great selection of categories; multi sensory, visual, auditory, etc. to address specific needs and situations, plus are quite funky and price friendly!

My favorite one is the Rubbery light-filled ball that changes colour every time it’s squeezed. Looking up the benefits of these kind of light toys I found that they provide visual feedback and stimulation to both low vision and sighted children. Although lighting up is the primary function of these toys, they also provide multi- sensory experiences.

Below are some of many websites where you can find many sensorial toys. Hope this helps to cross some names off your lists and stalk up under the tree!
