Kanchi is delighted to welcome Gabrielle Murphy to the team! Gaby joined in January as Managing Director and has 15 years experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining Kanchi, Gaby was Director of Development at Barretstown where she was responsible for an 80% growth in fundraising income to the organisation.

"I’m delighted to have joined such a great team and to be part of a truly dynamic organisation that is changing how people think about disability. I’m looking forward to working with Caroline and the entire Kanchi team to grow the organisation and build on its past success".

Kanchi Governance Policies

Kanchi is managed and regulated by a national Board and a leadership team. The Board's primary function is to agree the policy parameters within which Kanchi operates, to approve budgets and actions based on proposals from the leadership team, and to monitor performance.

The Board is elected at each Annual General Meeting. The maximum number of Board members is 15 and one third of the members must retire from office each year (while remaining eligible for re-election).

Responsibilities:
  • Articles of assocation
  • Appointment of auditors
  • Approval of the annual accounts
  • Advice and approval of all key structural and financial spend programmes

  • Monthly Officers Committee
  • Quarterly Finance Committee
  • Quarterly Funding Committee
Accountability:

The Board is accountable to:

  • Relevant government minister to ensure adherence to the Companies Act 1963 and the Memorandum and Articles of the Association
